Today, we explore Betws-y-Coed & Portmeirion Village.We depart the Midlands and head west into Wales. Our first stop of the day is Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia and the neighbouring towns and villages. This magical setting has a distinctly Alpine feel enhanced by the dense Gwydyr Forest surrounding Betws-y-Coed.  Eat locally sourced and award-winning food and drink in the diverse range of cafés, bistros, restaurants and pubs or browse the independent shops retailing in crafts, clothing, gifts, and local homemade produce.After your morning at Betws-y-Coed, we take a short journey to Portmeirion Village. Situated on a private peninsula overlooking stunning coastal scenery, the Italian Riviera meets rural Wales with a riot of colour and architectural styles at Portmeirion Village. Built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, Portmeirion is now one of Wales’ most popular tourist destinations. Portmeirion Village is well known as the location for the 1960s cult TV series The Prisoner. It comprises a cluster of colour-washed buildings around a central piazza, scenic surroundings and extensive woodlands, two hotels, historic cottages, gift shops, spa & award winning restaurants.

Over two days, some of the best pilots and flying display in the world use the natural amphitheatre of Swansea Bay to show their stuff, pulling off incredible aerial acrobatics. From jets to helicopters, it's two days of the year not to be missed.  But it's not just in the air where you'll see all the action - Swansea Prom is also transformed with ground displays, delicious food and drink trucks, VR experiences, musicians and bands playing live music, demonstrations, family activities, rides and more! The annual Air Show takes place on Southport beach and is a weekend packed with entertainment! Tram Sunday first took place in 1985 as part of the celebrations for the anniversary of Blackpool Trams. It continued to develop over the years to include any form of transport: classic cars, motorbikes, buses of course, not forgetting the trams. With over 200 different classic and vintage vehicles on display along with fairground rides, stalls selling a wide assortment of goods, live performances and entertainment from Spareparts Arts, there will be something for all the family.

Now connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain.The Low Town was once a thriving port along the banks of the River Severn, while the High Town held the castle, the churches, and many fine 16th and 17th century mansions.
